Venus and Pluto are facing off this week. Venus is in the mommy sign of Cancer while Pluto, the god of the underworld, is in taciturn Capricorn. It is almost as if Mom and Dad are fighting and the kids are in the middle. Venus is all about desire and love and Cancer is nurturing and coddling. Whereas Pluto is all about live and death choices and Capricorn is the task master! Family fight!
Depending on the placement of these planets in your chart you might really feel these movements. If, for instance, you are a Venus or Pluto Capricorn or Cancer person, you might feel a bit torn between your duties to your kids or even to yourself. There was a great song in the musical “Mame” when she lamented about perhaps being too strong or soft with her nephew. This describes this placement perfectly.
Even if it doesn’t hit you hard, think about the balance in your life between duty and comfort, work and play, time enjoyed or struggling.
Mom and Dad may be fighting but use that energy to bring balance to yourself.
A 2000 British Telecommunications study reported in the “Financial Times of London” stated that there are ten percent more phone calls in the days leading up to a full Moon. I have no idea why they would be interested in such a statistic nor do I totally believe it. However, it might be the case before the Moon goes full in Sagittarius! They do love to hold forth.
When the Sun and Moon are on the “communication axis” of Gemini and Sagittarius – the phone lines should burn up. However, since they are both squaring confusing Neptune be sure that what you are hearing is the truth. There is too much deception and obfuscation in the air when Neptune gets cranky.
This would be a great time to assess how truthful you are in general – are you always honest with others and most importantly with yourself? Do you trust the words those closest to you? Should you?
Use these two “gabby” planets to assess your communications – whether you use the phone or not!
Uranus moves in Taurus today. This is not a comfortable position for Uranus because it can feel boxed in by grounded, earthy Taurus. That is not a good sensation for our most rebellious and irreverent planet. However, the combination of Urania innovation and Taurean dedication to the Earth and all things stable and strong can bode well for both climate change and infrastructure change. Perhaps we can finally get out of neutral on these dire issues and get something done!
This placement can also assist us in looking at new food sources. Uranus loves to live in the future and always thinks outside the box – and we know that this planet needs more way to feed the growing population.
The last time Uranus was in Taurus Franklin Roosevelt started infrastructure and conservation works programs to pull America out of the Depression. He also instituted major banking reforms (Taurus ruled by Venus loves the securitour senses on these issues and use this energy to make amends to mother Earth.
If you are feeling a little bit out of sorts or a bit emotionally frayed, blame it on the Sun and Moon/Jupiter square this week.
The Moon is already in unsettle Aquarius today. Aquarius has many fine qualities but calm reflection is not one of them – neither is a desire to sit still. This is a sign that always looks forward. The Moon finds its time in this sign as less than comforting.
Now the poor Moon hits square to a very stubborn Taurus Sun AND Jupiter in another fixed sign, Scorpio. It is like your emotions are churning and have no place to go.
My advice, especially if you have a Sun/Moon/Ascendant in any of these signs is to think twice and breathe three times before you act on those churning emotions until the end of the week.
Most astrologers don’t pay enough time exploring the Moon. It moves so fast that it often gets lost in the shuffle of the dynamos like Jupiter and Pluto. However, this little speed demon does influence our moods. Today and tomorrow the Moon will be finishing a trip through Scorpio. Having a Scorpio Sun, I can feel the “spookiness” of Scorpio – I feel a bit paranoid – looking for a shoe some shoe that must be dropping someplace. The same can be said for someone with a Scorpio Moon or Scorpio rising – the extra dose of Scorpio on our emotions brings out the negative aspects of our sign.
As she leaves Scorpio for Sagittarius the Moon will set their nerves on jitter for a bit. People with a strong Sagittarian influence might feel ex-opinionated at this time, or start being a little looser with the money.
If you are feeling out of sorts, check the position of the Moon. She has more to do with it than you think!
I have been riffing a lot on Pluto and his relentless desire for change. Now is the time to use that energy to suit your needs and the change you want to make in your life.
April 29, 2018 6 PM Pacific, 9 PM Eastern time will be the height of a Scorpio Full Moon. This one will really pack a punch because of the simultaneous conjunction between Mars and Pluto, the traditional and modern rulers of Scorpio. A Mars/Pluto conjunction at any time is a powerful combination of the warrior and the changer – it is almost as though the universe is looking for a fight – looking for something that is out of whack and in need of forceful correction. This combination lays bare old, hidden wounds even if you have placed a temporary scab on them. There is no hiding with these two.
Don’t let Pluto find the wounds – work with these two powerful energies to uncover what no longer works for you and make a plan of action to change. Better you do it than be at the mercy of these two powerhouses.
I was again honored to do a class for EA Zoom – on the effects of Pluto both in your chart and on entire generations – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URUOAieyWmM
Pluto is tough one – he demands change and doesn’t care how far you have to dig to get rid of unwanted habits. However, there is no greater growth agent in the Universe.
I hope you will tune in!
This is what I explore in my article recently published at the incredible Soulsign.com – the website of my mentor and master Astrologer, Adam Gainsburg.
I explore the charts of Donald Trump and George Washington to see if either man achieved or is achieving his North Node goals.

In our charts Chiron indicates a deep wound that haunts us. Chiron produces sensations of disjointedness and a disconnection. When Chiron moves into Aries on April 17 be prepared to face issues of your basic vitality and direction.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and has domain over our personality, drive, ambition and aggression. When the “master of pain and uncertainty” arrives there you can imagine the internal turmoil he can bring. Look for concerns around:
Of course, this will bother those with Chiron in Aries or its opposite sign Libra or who have Chiron aspecting their Sun or ascendant more. However, we can all benefit from a study of our drive. Where do you let others take the lead too much, where do you hide your desires to appease others? Do you swallow your anger instead of clearing the air?
Transits are great time to change – so find where you are blocking your inner drive?
