Mars with Saturn and Pluto In Capricorn – Anger Mangement?

On March 17, Mars joins Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. Like his fellow travelers, Mars enjoys the ride through this constellation. Mar loves aggressive direct action and Capricorn enjoys organization and direct action. The good part is that Capricorn will hold back some of the more risky Mars behavior. Mars wants to lash out and act regardless of consequences. Capricorn is more the village elder informing Mars with common sense calming energy.

Mars will march through Capricorn for most of the year and will retrograde back at the end of the year.

Evaluate where you may be too angry, where you don’t think before you act or where you are holding childish angers too deep inside. Process these through the fatherly energy of Capricorn. Is there a better way to resolve issues? Can you make a long term plan to release pent up anger?

The point of this energy is to mature your anger responses and make them more productive instead of reactionary. We need more of this energy right now so let’s use it!

Lillith in Dangerous Territory: How Are You Addressing Your Inner Rebel?

And there is Lilith – wedged between karmic Saturn and Pluto.  Saturn is the authoritarian and Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld so this is not a neighborhood full of frivolity. Yet, there is the temptress, daring Lilith bravely holding her own between this two dour creatures. In Sumerian mythology, Lilith was the ultimate bad girl. She was a dark demon and seductress of innocent men. Lilith was a strong minded, desirous woman who struck fear in the hearts of the fragile male ego.

Later lore made her a fallen Eve type. Forced to fill an idealized male role of the perfect woman, she vehemently rebelled.

In Astrology the placement of Lilith indicates where we rebel against the norms of society – where we seek our own path.  Even the meekest person can look to Lilith for the one area they allow themselves to at least dream of autonomy.

Now as she asserts herself between the two most dominating and restrictive of planets she reminds us that this is the time of rebellion. Indeed, it almost looks as though she is saying hey guys I am here. #METOO

Jupiter and Saturn Together in Retrograde: Hang ON!

I have been speaking a lot about Jupiter this year and for good reason. We saw the explosion of #METOO when she went into powerful, secretive and sexual Scorpio – bringing forth in a big way (a Jupiter trait) hidden sexual abuse at the hands of the powerful.

Jupiter retrogrades on March 8 and Saturn follows on April 17. While Jupiter is an up and out action – Saturn is inward as he seeks structure and authority.

A retrograde is a time for inward introspection.

Adding these energies together you see that we are coming into a time when that Jupiter energy is going to head deeper into secrets of the powerful and collide with authoritarian Saturn. DO you think #METOO will go away? Do you think the March for our Lives is going away?  While I am against using Astrology to make bets, don’t bet that either of those things will happen.

Look more for an explosion of information and threats to the power structure as these two collide and then reemerge in the fall.

Full Virgo Moon – March 1 – Are You a Willing Victim?

March first will bring a full Moon.  The Native Americans called the full Moon of March the Worm Moon because the worms begin to push out through the Earth when it appeared. Because we will have another full Moon later in the month, March is another Blue Moon month.

The Moon will be in Virgo during this Worm Moon. Be on the lookout for feelings of victimization bubbling up. I call Virgo the Cinderella of the zodiac. She is always sitting by the fireplace making everyone else pretty for the ball but never thinks she can go. Virgo often considers themselves last to the point of allow others to bully, boss and ride over them.

If you have a Virgo Sun, Moon or ascendant by birth you will feel this even more than most but we all can be aware of the ways we allow others to use us. How can you emotionally take yourself away from the fireplace and into your ball gown?

A Blue Moon Super Moon Eclipse on Wednesday The Moon Hugs Ceres – a Female Super Blue Moon

If you love the Moon, mark your calendar for January 31 when (if you are in North America or Hawaii) you will see a blue Moon lunar eclipse just before sunrise. Blue Moons occur when we have two full moons in one calendar month. There will be another in March. The lunar eclipse will be total meaning that the Moon will be completely in the shadow of the Earth for a bit more than an hour. This is not, as you might have heard on social media, the first Blue Moon total eclipse in 150, just that it is the first visible to the Americas, particularly North American in that time.

This will be a Leo Blue Moon. A full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are 180 degrees away from each other on the ecliptic. Because the Moon is far from the rays of the Sun, we can see it more clearly than normal. With the Sun in Aquarius, the Moon must be in opposing Leo.

The Moon will also be one degree away from motherly Ceres, the nurturer. As the Moon is a feminine energy as well,we can call this the woman Super Blue Moon.

It is easy to say that this will fuel the “women first” energy that is permeating certainly America and Europe but let’s look at what this means for you. This is going to focus your attention on intimacy, home, family and the balance of the inner energy of the Moon and the fiery outward energy of Leo.

People with heavy Aquarius, Leo, and Moon (Cancer) influences will feel this more but we can also take a moment to ponder this energy of home, balance and our inner world.

Happy gazing!

Mars in Sagittarius – No Time for Excuses

Are you slowing down on your New Year’s resolutions? Well, be prepared to fire up again as warrior Mars moves in a fellow fire sign, Sagittarius. This is a very restless, adventurous and physical placement because we are combining the wanderlust of Sagittarius with the drive and energy of Mars. Winter might be the time of hibernating and binge watching or reading but think of this transit as your own personal January thaw.

Mars makes the move on January 26 so you have some time to plan your project and make your attack plans. The old file cabinet or pile of “vintage” clothes looking for a new home won’t stand a chance against you. Of course, larger more serious projects can come into focus whether they are for your home or office.

If born with Aries or Sagittarius Sun or rising sign, or Mars or Jupiter in first house, you will feel this energy more but anyone can harness this energy to get moving on a part of life currently stalled.

No better time to tackle your 2018 resolutions.

If you are one who makes New Year’s resolutions now is a time to kick them into high gear.

We have a stellium (a large number of planets all in one sign) in Capricorn, the task master. Saturn recently entered Capricorn (as I mentioned in a previous blog), Pluto has been there since 2008, the Sun is in Capricorn until January 21 and for a few days Mercury will be joining them there.

This is a good time to make a plan on how you want to face the rest of the year (the Sun.) Make a plan, catch up on some phone calls, letters, and emails – (Mercury.) This is just a good time to organize, plan, clean and prioritize.

Conversely, if you are someone who is too rigid this is a good time to loosen Saturn’s more odious elements from your life. Has Capricorn forbidden you from having any fun? Make a plan to escape those rings!
The Black Moon Lilith, that epitome of rebellious women, is also in Capricorn. This presents and interesting dichotomy. We have the classic pussy hat wearing woman, encased in the sign of the authoritarian male. She is not happy there and will not leave without kicking up some dust.  We saw that manifest in the Golden Globes last night with all of the women wearing black in solidarity and Oprah’s speech.)

Uranus Finally Goes Direct – Too Bad So Does Trump.

Happy New Year! In addition to the beautiful New Year’s Day full Moon, the universe gave us the present of Uranus moving out of retrograde where it has been since August, 2017. It didn’t surprise me that our so-called president used that movement to make a stereotypical move. Uranus is in Aries, the god of war. I describe this as like a teenager running with a loaded gun this situation. Uranus is unpredictable trickster energy that loves to shoot thunderbolts just to shake things up.

Trump’s ridiculous mine-is-bigger-than-yours tweet to North Korea is a perfect example of this Uranus-Aries, unhinged warrior energy unleashed. This is playing out when Saturn and Pluto remain in a difficult square energy that fulminates anger and even rebellion (a la Iran and Pakistan.)

The lesson at this time is to reign in that fight energy and use the positive free thinking and revolutionary Uranus with the drive of Aries to solve problems, not instigate more. Uranus is a planet of humanity and union. We need to think of ways to bring people together.

Check where your Uranus is in your chart – (let me know if you need help) and see how it is relating to Aries. This will tell you whether you too need to dial back the aggression or if you are ready to build bridges for the future!
