Now that we have just come through the solar eclipse we are gearing up for the lunar one! A partial lunar eclipse will take place on June 4, 2012. Although it will only be visible in Europe, East Africa, Asia, Australia, Pacific and a small portion of the Americas the energy will be felt by all of us. An eclipse of the Moon takes place when the Moon is “full” and can only occur ifthe Moon passes through some portion of the Earth’s shadow. The closer the Moon is to the center of the shadow, the more total the eclipse. Astrologicaly speaking a lunar eclipse is a great time for new beginnings mostly because it can bring about some hum dinger of endings. When the Moon is “full” it is opposite the Sun – so there is a disconnect between emotions and action. It can be a time when all of those annoying little things at work or in a partner really hit home. If you are born during a lunar eclipse expect to have some emotional explosions throughout your life as you will be wrestling with this emotiona-action energy during your lifetime. So if you want to avoid fights or lose your job – hang tight for a few days around the eclipse! Then again if you are itching for a fight…………………….

Saturn still in retrograde
Saturn will remain in retrograde until June 25th. Saturn rules structure, form, authority figures, and the bones – everything that keeps things in their place. When it is in retrograde, it is a good time to analyze those areas of life where we have responsibilities, projects to finish, projects to start, commitments we have to keep. This is a perfect time to see if we have taken on too much or if we should let a project go. How are we using our time? Saturn is all about time. Go through your “to do” list and weed out what you really don’t have to do – and things you have been doing forever out of an old sense of “I have to do this.” This is not a good time to start new projects – it is better that you weed out the old and plan for the future – plan for a new start. Reorganize, rejuvenate and re-evaluate and be ready to start fresh with new plans and new projects when it goes straight again on June 25th!
Oh Stop Grumbling
I got a call from a friend yesterday. “What the heck is going on – it is a horrible day for everyone here?” Well calls like that send me right to my friendly computer to divine the answers from on high – yes, from Microsoft. Well there it was in black and white, sort of. The Moon is now conjuncting Saturn and it is “full” too boot.
Look to the left of the chart. See the crescent shape of the Moon sitting right next to the funky H, the symbol for Saturn? They are conjunct one another – meaning the influence of Saturn is all over the poor little Moon. Now is a “bad” thing but it does constrict things and can have a very depressive influence. So if the Moon rules emotions and Saturn is beating up on it – do you see where grumpiness can ensue? Don’t worry the Moon is a fast mover, it will be pulling away in a day or two. P.S. You can tell when the Moon is “full” when it is across from the Sun – the Sun is the circle with a dot in the middle. The further from the Sun, the more the Moon can “shine.”
It isn’t the Moon!
Several people have asked me this week if the goofiness they are feeling is due to a full moon. Nope, the moon isn’t full right now…the culprits lie in a tight conjunction between Mars, the communicator, and Uranus, the quick change artist, both in Aries. When these two come together communications are subject to sudden stops and starts. You can also hear people making outlandish statements and wild promises and there can be a great deal of aggressive speech going on. All of this is courtesy of the wild energy and rebelliousness of Uranus. Mars will move out soon so this won’t last much more than a few days. But then the full moon will be in full swing!
Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth
The Queen of England has a birthday coming up – April 21st to be exact. She has alot of interesting aspects in her chart. One that has to bring a chuckle is her 5th house, the house of children.
She has Gemini on the cusp of the 5th house and its ruler, Gemini, is in a tight conjucnction with Uranus. Uranus of course is the quick change artist, the quirky, freedom lover who will do and say anything on the spur of the moment to shake things up. Uranus rebels against rules and convention and paves his own path no matter what. Gemini is no slouch in this area either. Gemini is the air sign of duality – very quixotic and very much a creature of change and movement. Is it any wonder she had – well let’s say a flock of kids who are, shall we say, a handful?
Mercury is no longer retrograded but watch Mars
Yes, Mercury has gone direct again and did so on April 4th – so sign those contracts, write those letters – Mercury won’t bother you anymore. Not until she goes retrograde again but that is a while off yet. Mars, however, is now retrograded and in the rather docile sign of Virgo. Mars only goes retrograde about once every 2 years and 2 months so it is a pretty rare occurrence. Mars is stereotypical masculine energy and drive. When in retrograde our energy is diffuse, confused. Remember the old commercial about “our get up and go has gone up and went?” That is Mars retrograde! Virgo Mars makes us feel a bit hypercritical – picky and perfectionistic! We can also feel a bit hypochondriacal and worry about health and nutrition. It is a time of saying “I should start to diet more or walk more or…” Virgo vibrates to the sixth house which is also the house of day to day work so expect some increased nitpicking between co-workers at this. Because of the retrograde the energy will be inward and not clearly defined. It is the best time to watch your back! Mars will be going direct again in a few days – so pay attention to the energy shift. All of those inner annoyances will either dissipate or come to head!
I just love relgious holidays that follow the stars…!
Happy Easter and Happy Passover. I do just love religious holidays that have their roots in the movements of planetary bodies! Easter is calculated as the first Sunday after the paschal full moon that occurs on or after the vernal equinox. If the full moon falls on a Sunday, then Easter is the following Sunday. The holiday can occur anywhere between March 22 and April 25. Of course, since Passover came first it too follows an astronomical path. Passover begins on the night of a full moon after the northern vernal equinox.
While you are enjoying your Easter meal remember that the word derives from Eoestre the pagan celebration in honor of the young goddess who would shower d the countryside with eggs during the vernal equinox.
Which ever Spring celebration you partake in have fun and remember they are wonderful connections to the universe and the stars above us.
Energy Energy – Uranus and Pluto Squares.
Between 2012-2015 when Uranus in Aries will square Pluto in Capricorn 7 times. This is the ultimate clash of unbridled change energy and slow and steady almost grinding change energy.
For those who like to keep track of such things here are the dates of the exact squares:
June 24, 2012
September 19, 2012
May 20, 2013
November 1, 2013
April 21, 2014
December 15, 2014
March 16/17, 2015
These transits are not always easy. The demand to change and rebel against old stuffy institutions will be intense. There can be even bigger revolutions that we are seeing now, corporate power struggles and even unexpected deaths of people and institituions.
This will also be a time for the further advancement of scientific and technological breakthroughs.
For indiviuals, you could see the end of old relationships.
Remember what I said when Pluto entered Capricorn – this is a time of big change to corporations and government. Well when Uranus throws it’s electical energy into that hang on kids becuase the ride will excilerating and very bumpy!
Venus on the first – Clinton and Limbaugh
After my little walk through Rush Limbaugh’s chart last week (don’t worry, I washed afterwards), I got thinking of another person with Venus in the first house – the house of personality – yes, it is Bill Clinton. OK Venus on the first house normally indicates someone who has a certain amount of appeal. Now my progressive friends stop making retching sounds, like him or not Rushie Boy wouldn’t have gotten this far if he didn’t appeal to a number of people! As for Clinton, well we all know how his appeal works.
President Clinton’s Venus is in its ruling sign – Libra – which increases his sexual appeal. He doesn’t haven’t to rely on rebellion he can rely on the sexual energy of Libra – and –oh boy is this a hoot —his Venus is conjunct both Neptune and Venus! So he has a double dose of Venus energy – Venus is the sign of the woman – and of sexuality and of physical appeal. Add Neptune to the mix – with its air of unreality and well you can see the issues he had.
Two Venus placements in the first bring both of their people to some prominence but they don’t yield the same results – it is all about the aspects they make with other planets.
